Parking lot hit-and-run accidents happen more often than we think.

BlackVue user John Bentley came back to his parked car and noticed a significant damage at the back. As you can imagine – there wasn’t any note waiting for him, there were no witnesses to let him know what had happened. Thankfully, there was a BlackVue dashcam installed in his vehicle, recording in Parking Mode thanks to the Parking Mode accessory (Power Magic Pro, available here).

No note? No problem!

With the dashcam recording, John could easily check who the culprit was. And sure enough, the rear camera of the dashcam caught everything – another driver hit his car when pulling out of the parking spot next to John’s vehicle. The passenger even checked the damage – and then they simply drove away! The other party was quickly located thanks to the video evidence. They are facing criminal charges now.
