Truck flew off an overpass

The driver of an 18-wheeler, identified later as Gustavo Gomez, 71, died after his truck tumbled off a highway overpass near Dallas, Texas. According to the Allen Police Department, the truck was traveling north on US-75. It collided with another vehicle around 3 PM that day, burst into flames and flew off the overpass, crashing into the service road below. The driver died at the scene.

Fatal crash

The LTE BlackVue dash cam footage obtained by WFAA captured the exact moment the 18-wheeler crosses the barrier and careens off the overpass, flipping onto its back and bursting into huge flames. The footage is so graphic and vivid a content warning had to be issued.

According to the witnesses, letters and packages could be found all around the scene of the accident – USPS later confirmed that Mr. Gomez was a contractor delivering mail for the postal service. This crash caused some delays in the area, as the investigators and clean-up crews managed the scene. Many major news outlets such as the Washington Examiner and NY Post made reports on the crash.
